Located just 15 miles south of downtown Sarasota Florida, Casey Key is an exclusive island paradise that is un-crowded, quiet and tranquil. Known for its privacy, Casey Key is regarded as a tropical refuge studded with multi-million dollar homes. This small tropical island features beautiful and uncrowded beaches, a few restaurants, fishing, boating and of courses plenty of sunshine. There are only 500 single family homes on the island, making it very cozy and friendly too. There are no high-rise condos here.
In the early 1970's, a significant part of the island was preserved as a conservation area, as mandated by the State of Florida. Many of the homes on Casey Key are large single family homes on large parcels of beach front property. There are also gated luxurious waterfront homes on the bayside of the island. Most of these homes are occupied by year round residents or used as second or third homes. Some houses are also rented out to tourists and visitors. There are a few small rental units available on Casey Key, but otherwise Casey Key is significantly a residential island. Outdoor activities like volleyball, picnicking and sunbathing on Casey Key Beach, walking and bicycling are popular on Casey Key. The sunsets are not to be missed in this Paradise!
Casey Key Beaches

hines, restrooms and showers as well as a children's playground across the street with a view overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway. There is a boat ramp providing access to the Intracoastal Waterway, with additional parking for cars and trailers.
North Jetty Beach is at the extreme southern end of the island and has limited parking, lifeguards, concessions, volleyball courts, picnic tables, restrooms and showers. Boating and fishing are favorite activities of the residents and visitors at North Jetty. Surfing is also very popular here and many people in southwest Florida consider this to be the best surfing spot on the west coast of Florida.
Boating and fishing in the Gulf of Mexico and the Intracoastal Waterway are available on Casey Key and probably the most favorite of all the water sports.
There are great Gulf of Mexico views from many areas on the island. Tropical birds float over the waves in the late afternoon and dive for their catch of the day - quite a sight to see on Casey Key. When the sun sets on Casey Key, you can look up at orange and fiery red skies. It's definitely worth a trip to this island for a sensational sunset experience.
