It's usual for vendors to put considerable effort into redecorating the side of their house when putting their home up for sale. Although the interior presentation is really important, so too is the curb appeal and entrance way to the house. The exterior is like the outside packaging on a gift box and people form their first impressions from what they see on the outside.

Home sales tips usually focus mainly on decor and internal presentation of the house. Unfortunately they often don't offer a great deal on how to prepare the property exterior. While your decor and furnishings may be what sells the home, it is not the only thing to consider. The property exterior is what often brings in the buyer and makes them want to look more closely at what you have to offer.

One of the often forgotten tips for selling property is to also prepare the property exterior. It means focusing on the garden and house exterior as well as the interior. Tidy up the property exterior ready for sale. Buyers won't want to see a run-down garden or yard. Buyers will see a mess as a bit turn off. They may even want to buy the property for a reduced price.

The house exterior and yard is the first thing that gets noticed from the street.Curb appeal can make or break a sale.A tidy outside presentation can have the property almost sold before the buyer even enters the home itself.

Stand on the opposite side of the road and look at your house as others would see it. Does it need a bit of effort on the outside? Is the outside in need of repair or maintenance? If so, there may be several options available to you.

A few new, carefully positioned, plants may change the appearance for the better. Trimming existing shrubs and trees can also make a big difference. Clear or trim plants that are encroaching on doors, windows and paths. Trim them back.

Add a few pots of hanging flowers to your porch or deck. Nothing says that you take care of your home like people seeing the outside looking lovely and inviting. These little details will show the buyer you care about your home.

Investing in some new shrubs and trees may be money well spent. Perhaps consider some other landscaping elements that are low in cost too. Another quick idea is to scrub those trash cans until they gleam.

Clean your windows until they shine and mow the lawn. The lawn should always be freshly mown and the side-walks edged prior to inviting your prospective buyers to your home.

Tidy away tools, motor mowers, hose reels, or anything else that might look untidy. Hiding clutter will improve the aesthetics of the property and give the impression of space and order.

If you have a pressure washer, then it will be useful too. If you don't already have one, they are not expensive to buy or hire. Wash the side-walk and driveway as well the the house exterior. Clean paving and a clean exterior is always a good first impression.
