So you are considering getting a real estate license but you have no idea what is really involved. All you know is that you love houses and property and talking about them. Given that you think that getting a real estate license and beginning a career in that field. The first thing you need to know is that the requirements for getting a real estate license are different in every state because they are controlled by the states. In the state of Texas the cost of a real estate license seems pretty high. First you have the cost of those 60 hours of The Principles of Real Estate required courses. In addition you must have a
nother 150 hours of courses, 90 of which are specified by the state and 60 which are elective. The cost for these classes can vary depending on where you take them but they usually run about $700. Then you must pay $163 application fee prior to taking your real estate license exam. At minimum it will cost you $863 to get your real estate license.

Now let's look at what it might cost to get a real estate license in Georgia. Once again you must take the 75 hours of Principles of Real Estate for sales agents that Georgia requires. The agent must also take a 25 hour post licensure class in the first year that they have their real estate license. The usual cost for this training is around $688 and the real estate license exam fee is $97. In addition there is a $170 fee for the license itself. Therefore in Georgia the cost of getting a real estate license it $955, just a little higher than in Texas.

Let's look at one more state that of California. You must take California Real Estate Principles but the coursework only costs $288. The real estate license exam fee in California is only $60 and the real estate license itself is $245. In addition there is a$51 fingerprint fee. The total cost of getting a real estate license in California is only $593 or almost half what it costs in Georgia.

Now that you have a sense of what it cost to get a real estate license the first thing for you to do is apply to take the coursework required for your state. There are many good online schools where you can get prepared for your real estate license.
